A new attack, now being called Gumbler, is popping up rapidly with malicious links on Google's search results. These attacks are found on thousands of legitimate web sites. The virus is targeting know flaws in Adobe's software and exploits them by installing a malicious program on the victims' computer.
The malicious program that is downloaded steal FTP(File Transfer Protocol) login information from the victims and uses it to expand. The victim's browser is also hijacked and replaces search results with links chosen by the virus.
You should be protected from these attacks if you have up-to-date security software and a fully-patched system. So far, the virus works by hitting the victim with malicious PDF or Flash files.
