A Contract Between You and Me: info@drakehs.com It's the holiday season. Your children will soon be out of school and have more time to be on the internet. Maybe it's time for an internet contract between your child and yourself. I know it sounds crazy to have a written agreement with your child, but it is a good way to have your expectations stated clearly. This way your children will know where you draw the line on issues brought up by the internet. Before your kids hit the Net running, establish an understanding between your child and yourself. One way to establish this relationship is to create an agreement that is accessible to both of you. Your contract should include the following provisions:
Anything goes on the Internet, but we shouldn't be afraid to let our children explore the possibilities. Be vigilant, be wise, and most of all, don't discourage your child getting online. Participate in your child's adventures and help your child understand and conquer this new world that is such an essential part of life today. |
