Webopedia defines a blog as, "Short for Web log, a blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author."

Blogs can be found on a personal webpage, or you can join a website and post blogs for other people, either registered users or guests, to read and respond to. Xanga.com has become a popular site with the teens for blogging. As with many blogging sites it is free but you can upgrade to a different package for a fee and get things like extra storage space for pictures and less advertisements. Other blogging sites include myblog.com, blogcatalog.com, and blogger.com, just to name a few.

If you have children who maintain a blog it is recommended that you monitor that blog closely. Let you child know that you will be reading it, along with their friend's blogs as well.

As a fan of General Hospital I occasionally read a blog "written" by one of the characters. I know Grey's Anatomy has a few characters who write blogs as well. I can't wait for the day when the Desperate Housewives write a blog!
